Mr. Harrison believes that a large majority of strictures excepting those caused by injuries to the urethra, are preceded by more or less chronic gonorrhoea or gleet, and that the most frequent seat of stricture corresponds with that of Sleet, namely, the subpubic or deeper portion of the urethra Medicinal applications reach these (the bulbous and membranous) parts of the urethra with difficulty, and the author's plan is to cure the chronic gonorrhoea by irrigating this part of the tube. He has adapted a Higginson's syringe for this purpose, and by means of a vulcanized India rubber catheter
